π Getting Started
Welcome to citeAgent! This application helps you automatically add academic citations to your LaTeX documents in Overleaf. Whether you are preparing an article, thesis, or report, citeAgent simplifies the citation process. Follow the steps below to download and run the software.
π» System Requirements
To ensure citeAgent runs smoothly, please check the following requirements:
- Operating System: Windows, macOS, or Linux (64-bit recommended)
- RAM: At least 2 GB
- Storage: Minimum 50 MB of free space
- Internet Connection: Required for downloading the application and updates
π Download & Install
To get citeAgent, visit this page to download: citeAgent Releases.
- Click on the link above.
- You will see a list of available versions under βReleases.β
- Look for the latest version at the top of the page β this is the most stable release.
- Click on the βAssetsβ dropdown to see the available files for download.
π Choose Your File
Depending on your operating system, you may find the following files:
- For Windows:
citeAgent-Windows.exe
- For macOS:
citeAgent-macOS.dmg
- For Linux:
citeAgent-Linux.AppImage
Select the appropriate file for your system and click to start the download.

- Windows:
- Once downloaded, locate the file in your downloads folder.
- Double-click
citeAgent-Windows.exe to run the installer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
- macOS:
- After downloading
citeAgent-macOS.dmg, double-click the file.
- Drag the citeAgent icon into your Applications folder.
- Open Applications and double-click citeAgent to launch.
- Linux:
- Save
citeAgent-Linux.AppImage to your preferred directory.
- Open your terminal.
- Navigate to the directory where you downloaded the file and run:
chmod +x citeAgent-Linux.AppImage
./citeAgent-Linux.AppImage

Using citeAgent is straightforward. Once installed, follow these steps:
- Open Overleaf:
- Launch your web browser and access your Overleaf project.
- Add Citations:
- Open citeAgent on your computer.
- Input the details of your academic sources (author, title, year, etc.).
- Click on βGenerate Citation.β
- Copy the generated citation.
- Paste in Overleaf:
- Go back to Overleaf.
- In your LaTeX document, paste the citation where needed.
